"Change of Life Garden" at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum
This summer’s FREE Cell phone Tours at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, include “The Change of Life Garden” and are held daily from 8:00 a.m. until dusk. This exhibit and accompanying cell phone tour focuses on plants that support women’s health during menopause.

Plants in this exhibit include Scullcap, Motherwort, Evening Primrose, Lady’s Mantle and others. Some of the plants in the exhibit contain phyto-hormones that act like estrogen in the body, others plants encourage hormonal balance. “These plants have been used for millennia by women around the world to provide relief for menopause symptoms,” said Lesley Parness, Superintendent of Horticultural Education at the Morris County Park Commission. “Today’s women have the option of Hormone Replacement Therapy. These plants offer another option and connect us to past generations of women.”

The exhibit, funded by the Provident Bank Foundation and The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, was produced in partnership with Well Sweep Herb Farm in Port Murray NJ and the North Jersey Chapter of The Herb Society of America.

Cell phone tours at the Arboretum debuted last year and were very popular. They provide a “private tour” for visitors anytime of the day.

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is located at 53 East Hanover Avenue in Morristown, New Jersey. Please call 973-326-7603 to register for any of the Focus on Scotland programs.
