Home >James Andrews Memorial County Park
Den Brook, a major tributary of the Rockaway, begins in wetlands above James Andrews Memorial County Park. Within James Andrews County Memorial Park, a small brook flowing into Shongum Lake contains a healthy population of brook trout, native to the stream. Of interest is the fact that the mature trout grow no larger than 6 inches.
There are four train heads, or access points, to James Andrews Memorial County Park. They are at Freedom Park on Millbrook Avenue, at Town Hall on Millbrook Avenue, at Hidden Valley Park on Everdale Road and on Radtke Road.
Along the trail, just below Freedom Park, is a 9-11 Memorial to the four Randolph residents lost in the World Trade Center.
The trail sections in James Andrews Memorial County Park were the first of many in the ever expanding network of the Randolph Trails System. Further information can be obtained through the Randolph Park and Recreation office at 973-989-7081.
