Home >Old Troy County Park
Old Troy County Park was first opened for public use in 1978. The first parcel of land was donated by the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills in October, 1975. In 1977, an additional six acres of land were presented to the Park Commission by Mildred and Richard W. Mc Ewan.
Unique natural features are among the diversified attractions of this 96 acre park, currently the Park Commissions smallest park. Old Troy is a popular setting for weekday lunches and picnics. Recreational facilities include family picnic sites, athletic workout stations, horseshoe pits, creative play equipment, a ballfield and hiking trails. In the winter, the trails are used for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Changes were recently made to improve the accessibility of the site. Improvements were made to the picnic sites, the paths and trails, as well as new picnic tables to become more ADA compliant.
