Learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Taste-test different delicious syrups, including syrup made right at the Great Swamp OEC. Treats are available for purchase.

Enjoy a full day of education, networking, and camaraderie. Experts address pertinent topics to community gardeners, garden managers, and those trying to establish a new community garden. This year’s keynote speaker is Karen Washington, ‘Urban Farming’s Grand Dame,’ according to the New York Times.

Teachers: Take advantage of our many excellent field trips that are close at hand and offer a wealth of educational experiences at affordable prices. Our lesson topics and objectives are closely correlated to the NJ Core Curriculum Standards as well as the most commonly taught science and social studies topics in local schools. Our programs include hands-on activities, pre- and post- trip lessons, and take home follow-up activities. Professional development courses are also available.
