Join us for a weekend of old-fashioned Holiday festivities this December at Historic Speedwell! This event brings 1860s Christmas to life and is a perfect day out for all ages. Kids can create a seasonal craft, listen to A Visit from St. Nicholas (‘twas the night before Christmas), before visiting with Civil War Santa beginning at 1 pm each day. Join our guest dance caller Susan de Guardiola and costumed staff and volunteers as she leads country dancing in our festive Carriage House. Our friends from the New Jersey 2nd Brigade arrive this year for a Union Christmas encampment, exploring how soldiers celebrated the holidays away from home. Don’t miss our hearth cooking demonstrations over an open fire, blacksmithing demonstrations throughout the day, and our Christmas-themed house tour highlighting how the Vail Family spent the festive seasons.

The Morris County Park Commission is pleased to be partnering with Macculloch Hall Historical Museum for this event! Attendees to Christmas with the Curator at Macculloch Hall on Saturday, December 13 or Sunday, December 14 can present their ticket at the Jolly Old Christmas ticketing booth as admission.
