Central Park of Morris County

The Park Commission’s first fully accessible outdoor athletic facility features an abundance of athletic and recreational opportunities for guests of all ages and abilities in Parsippany-Troy Hills.


Central Park of Morris County is a 420-acre sports complex that features four multi-use artificial turf fields with sports lighting, a 5k cross country course, two regulation size in-line hockey rinks, a fully accessible Challenger League ball field, a softball field, two sand volleyball courts, and a disc golf course. Dog lovers can bring their four-legged friends to the 5-acre dog park that has separate large and small dog areas, or explore the over 11 miles of paved and natural trails the park has to offer. The All-Access Playground, sponsored by the New York Jets, features swings, slides, music stands, and crawl tunnels, and is accessible for children in wheelchairs and specifically designed so all children can play alongside one another.

Cross Country Course

  • Can be used for 1K, 2K, 3.5K or a full 5K single loop

Softball Field

  • Dirt infield with a grass outfield
  • Outfield Measurements:
    • Right Field: 270’
    • Center Field: 320’

Sand Volleyball Courts

  • Both courts have lights for evening play
  • Measurements:
    • 30’ x 60’ with 10’ sand buffer

Disc Golf Course

  • 18-hole course, foot traffic only
  • Available for individual play
  • Organized groups and Tournaments must get a permit

Dog Park

  • 5-acre dog park with separate areas for large or small dogs
  • Benches and bag dispensers available at both areas of the dog park
  • Dog Park Guidelines; including but not limited to:
    • Maximum of 2 dogs per adult
    • All dogs must have their current license tag visible on their collars and be responsive to voice commands.
    • Children under 12 are not permitted in the dog park

All-Access Playground

  • Wheelchair accessible playground specifically designed so all children can play together
  • Note – playground closes in winter as cold temperatures cause the playground surface to harden creating a safety risk

Artificial Turf Tournament or Showcase Application

The process starts when the event application and a draft of the supporting documents have been submitted. (Additional documents may be required prior to review.) The completed application and documents will be reviewed. Upon approval MCPC staff will aid the event organizer to ensure the event meets all requirements. An invoice will be generated to confirm the times, dates and location. Applicants have 30 days to review the invoice and confirm their event with payment.

  • Applications for Artificial Turf Field Tournaments and Showcases are accepted starting September 1st for the following year. For example, September 1, 2023 applications were accepted for 2024 field rentals
  • Completed Applications and the supporting documentation can be sent to events@morrisparks.net.
  • Insurance: Reference this Insurance Information packet for Events or visit the Turf Insurance Requirements page for a brief overview of the general MCPC requirements.
  • Additional Permitting: Vendors – all vendors coming on site will need to complete the Vendor Application and meet the requirements.
Picnic Shelter

Reserve the picnic shelter for your next birthday party, family picnic, or company outing by contacting the Reservations Office at 973.326.7631, option 1. Or you can use the Outdoor Reservation Availability Request form and someone from the Reservation Office will contact you.

Clubs, organizations, businesses and groups of 25 or more persons utilizing any Morris County Park area are required to make a reservation and obtain a permit.

The Central Park Picnic Shelter has many nearby amenities such as the Jets Play 60 playground, roller rinks, volleyball courts, challenger league field, and a dog park.
