Take a guided tour, visit the exhibits, enroll in summer camps, and participate in the demonstrations and programs each site has to offer. There are also school, scouts, and club programs.

 

Fosterfields Living Historical Farm - Fosterfields is a working farm using the tools, techniques, and materials as it was done in the 1920's. At this 213.4-acre New Jersey and National Register Historic Site, experience our agriculture heritage through living history programs, tours, and special events.

 

Cooper Gristmill at Black River County Park - Cooper Gristmill, located on 14 acres, was built in 1826 and is one of the remaining restored water-powered mills in New Jersey. It is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Watch the massive water wheel power shafts and gears that turn 2,000-pound mill stones as the master miller, dressed in period costume, explains the history and operation of the mill.

 

Historic Speedwell - Discover the ‘Birthplace of the Telegraph’ and experience life during the early years of the Industrial Revolution and at the dawn of the new era of communications. This 8.22-acre National Historic Landmark site preserves the restored estate of Stephen Vail, proprietor of the Speedwell Iron Works from the early to mid-1800's. It includes the Factory, where Alfred Vail and Samuel B. Morse demonstrated the perfected telegraph in 1838. Experience life during the mid-19th century through guided tours, special events, programs, and exhibits.
