White-tailed deer management

The Morris County Park Commission is currently responsible for the stewardship of 20,197 acres of land with 344.3 miles of trails. It recognizes that a controlled hunting program is the most efficient and effective way available to minimize the severe threats posed to the biodiversity of native flora and fauna by overabundant white-tailed deer populations. The MCPC's controlled hunts are specifically used as a population management tool and do not represent recreational hunting opportunities. The MCPC is no longer accepting applications for the 2020/21 season; interested hunters should reach out in July 2021 to get on next season’s waiting list.
