Construction Begins For A New Playground Equipment & Restroom Replacement Improvement Project At Loantaka Brook Reservation
Tuesday, August 20, 2019MORRISTOWN, NJ. Loantaka Brook Reservation, one of the Morris County Park Commission’s most popular general all-purpose general parks, has been sited to begin construction of improvement project, which includes new playground equipment and restroom replacement adjacent to the South Street entrance in Morris Township on or about August 26, 2019. The Park Improvement Trust Fund supports these projects.
The anticipated New playground equipment which will be located in the same area as the former one, will now sport a variety of features for kids ages 5 to 12 including slides, climbers, fire poles, bridges and stationary cyclers. With safety as a significant priority, it will have be partially enclosed with fencing and include engineered wood fiber safety surfaces. For the adults, there will be several benches, too!
Another major improvement to this area, includes the demolition of the existing seasonal restroom and replaced with a new pre-fabricated structure. The new facility includes three individual bathrooms that are designated all-gender, two of which are handicapped accessible. These new restrooms will be heated and for year-round availability. Additional Port-A-John’s will be available during this temporary closure and the Kitchell Area restroom is also available.
