The beautifully rehabilitated Seaton Hackney Stables complex is situated on a 38-acre fenced property. It includes an indoor barn and outdoor barn, 50 straight and box stalls of various sizes. All stalls are ventilated and rubber matted. Other amenities include a large shower stall, air conditioned indoor restrooms/locker, two large fenced riding rings, a dressage ring, a driving and galloping half-mile long track complete with a judges stand, and meeting/scoring room for shows, parties and special events, as well as plenty of turn-out space. A cross-country course with banks and water-jumps completes the setup. This facility is contiguous to Loantaka Brook Reservation.
The stables are leased and operated by Equishare USA LLC. Equishare offers pony programs, lessons, trail rides, special events, camps, and various equestrian activities throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Through Equishare, Seaton Hackney Stables offers an expansive list of activities for all ages. Riding lessons are offered with instruction in hunt seat equitation, balance seat, combined training, and show jumping and dressage. Western instruction, cart driving lessons, and sidesaddle clinics round out the lesson program.

The Equishare Program, ‘the sensible alternative to horse ownership,’ is a modified, discounted lease program. The stables also offer private horse boarding for the more motivated and committed riders. Guided trail rides give casual riders an opportunity to relax and explore the natural beauty of the many miles of bridle paths of adjacent Loantaka Brook Reservation.

History:

Seaton Hackney Stables are situated on 38 acres of fenced property that was donated to the Morris County Park Commission in 1959 as bequeathed by Paul Moore, Sr. Former owner of the notable stables, Mr. Moore, was the national leader for breeding Seaton colts and fillies, as well as the owner of the renowned filly, Pippin.

Seaton Hackney Stables were rehabilitated in 2006 and are currently leased an operated by Equishare USA, LLC.

Hours of Operation:

Fall, Winter & Spring: Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Summer: Open daily, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m

No Smoking Policy

The Morris County Park Commission has recently announced a No Smoking Policy banning all smoking including burning of, inhaling from, exhaling the smoke from or the possession of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other matter of substance which contains tobacco or any other matter that can be smoked, or the inhaling or exhaling of smoke or vapor from an electronic smoking device.
