Autumn is in the air, and festive scarecrows take over The Frelinghuysen Arboretum. Explore the gardens, and discover dozens of comical, historic, and colorful scarecrows designed by individuals, families, businesses, organizations, scout groups, and school classes.

Interested in having your own scarecrow displayed? Email gmontgomery@morrisparks.net or call 973.326.7601 for more information and to register your scarecrow. All scarecrows should make their appearance at the Arboretum by the weekend of October 12.

Garden Sprouts

October 30: Pumpkin Patch.
Ages 2 - 5 with an Adult.
Learn how pumpkins grow, create a pumpkin craft, and visit the gardens to see if pumpkins or winter squash are growing.

November 6: Growing Vegetable Soup.
Ages 2 - 5 with an Adult.
Create a delicious soup to share, and try a new vegetable or two.

December 4: Gingerbread Village.
Ages 2 - 5 with an Adult.
Create a simple gingerbread village, learning techniques to decorate a festive house that can be entered in the Gingerbread Wonderland exhibit.
